Lisa Bloobel Progressive #2- Perk Up Your Day

Good evening crafty friends, I'm here today with a journal page I created using the "Bake Me A Cake" Digi from

https://www.bloobel.com/blogs/news/bloobel-progressive-challenge-february-2017

You get extra elements with this digi that allows you to build and decorate a cake. But seeing as I LURVE coffee, I decided to Java mine up!

I used Black, red and White and used a lattice background as I thought it lent to a coffee shop feel with the tiled floors. A sentiment from My Favorite Things "Perk Up" set finished off the simple but Java-licious card. :o)

I colored her up with Spectrum Noir Markers, fussy cut her out and adhered her to black CS so she stood out and fussy cut her again...can I just say I am NOT a fan of fussy cutting...hehehehe:

I adhered her with foam tape:

I don't know where the coffee cup die is from as I got it from a swap, but Mmmm I could use a coffee now. ;o)

and here's the inside:

Thank you for stoppin' by and I hope I've inspired you to get crafty today!

STAMPlorations~ Sunday Stencil #84

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm sharing a journal page I made for STAMPlorations Sunday Stencil #84. The designers have created some fabulous mixed media projects to inspire you. You can find them  here so be sure to check them out and leave them some luv! :o)

I played with  ARTplorations Just Squares and STAMPlorations Groovy Lace Up Shoes. Here's my art journal page
I started by applying Brushos in Lemon,Gaboge and Vermillion with Soft Matte Gel  Medium. Once Dry, I stamped some flowers from the Groovy Shoes Set and Circles from the Artsy Border Maker Set in Blazing Red, Ultramarine and Sunflower yellow StazOn Inks.   I then applied black acrylic paint thru the Just Squares Stencil for my "Road". I created my border with the Artsy Border Maker Set with Jet Black Archival Ink and colored the centers with White Molotow Pen

I then stamped and embossed one of the Groovy Lace Up Shoes twice  so that they would be facing the same way ;o) onto water colored paper. Once it was heat set, I used SN Sparkle Pens to watercolor them in Aquamarine and Rose Quartz. These pens are great for watercoloring as they blend well with a water pen and add some pretty sparkle. :o) For the soles, I used SN Markers (Black, GG5 & IG7) and then used the Clear SN Sparkle Pens so they sparkled too. I fussy cut them out and set aside. Now I needed me some legs to do the walking...I couldn't find anything so I drew the legs and the skirt onto scrap cardstock and fussy cut them out. I adhered it all with the soft Matte gel medium and added some Gelatos for coloring and shading. I finished with by stamping my sentiment and adding some white highlights with my Molotow pen
There you have it...I know you probably have the Nancy Sinatra tune in your head...I know I did. ;o)

I hope you were inspired to play along in our Monthly Challenge, there is still plenty of time join in. Have a great weekend. :o)

STAMPlorations~ Cupcake Inspirations

Hello crafty friends, today I have a fun journal page to share with you for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge  that STAMPlorations is sponsoring.

It's a color/ theme inspiration photo challenge...and MMmmmm Cupcakes...who doesn't love a delicious cupcake???

Each challenge, they provide a cupcake to inspire you to create a card  or other craft project following the suggested theme or colors.  Here is this week's cupcake photo inspiration ;o)

http://cupcakeinspirations.blogspot.ca/

I used the color combination and cupcake theme for my art journal page using  STAMPlorations Two Cupcakes Digital Stamp and  ARTplorations Bubble Dance stencil
I started with Brusho's in Scarlet, Brilliant Red and Black and applied it to my pages with Art Basics Soft Matte Gel Medium. Love this technique, as it gives such vibrant results without losing the color from adding water. Plus is seals your page at the same time. :o) Then I added white acrylic paint thru the ARTplorations Bubble Dance stencil randomly thru the background to tie in the white from the inspiration photo and to create some background texture. I then added white and black paint splatters. I printed the STAMPlorations Two Cupcakes Digital Stamp onto Design papers and onto Kraft Cardstock for the base layer (to get the cake color) in the regular size and then enlarged it to get the larger cupcake image. I fussy cut out all the pieces and then paper pieced them together and colored them the cupcake tops with Spectrum Noir Markers. I painted a black border to frame my pages and then added some white with my Uni PoscaWhite Pen.  I then adhered the cupcakes to my page and sealed them with Soft Matte Gel Medium and once dry added some highlights with Distress Crayons and Faber Castell Pitt Pens. I doodled onto the stenciled bubbles with black Fine Pitt Pen to break it up a bit and added some white gel pen highlights to the cupcakes. I finished by stamping my sentiment using different pieces of several sentiments I had onto the same text paper I used for the cupcake tops. Added a little Red Barn Distress Ink and then doodled a frame around them with the Black Fine Pitt Pen.

I felt the cupcakes needed some more texture so I added Christmas Red Stickles, White and Black Nuvo Drops and Glossy Accents with silver and black micro beads.

I sure hope I've inspired you to join in the fun Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and see you again soon.

STAMPlorations~ February Challenge!

Happy Sunday crafty friends! It's that time again...
http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2016/08/stencil-sunday-august-7.html
A new challenge starts today at STAMPlorations! :o)

The theme is always anything mixed media goes except a card! Just remember you must use at least one stencil (any brand) in your project. You have until the end of the month to play!

Here is a lil' tag I made using ARTplorations  Weaving stencil and STAMPlorations Always Time for Tea stamp set.

I started with a tag cut from watercolor paper and then added Ranger TexturePaste thru the Weaving Stencil in the top left and bottom right corners.  After that paste dried, I  then wet the paper with paperto prepare for my watercoloring. I used my Kuretake GansaiTambi Watercolors and applied  No. 44 & No. 139 in layers; drying in between layers.

I stamped and embossed the teacups from the ALWAYS TIME FOR TEA stamp set onto Wisteria Paper from BasicGrey. I fussy cut them out and layered them on top of eachother creating a slit in the bottom cup with my Exacto knife. I adhered them with Golden Matte Medium. I stamped a sentiment from the same set with Jet Black Archival Ink as I thought it needed some black. I  then cut a slit in the top cup and added the flower sprigs from Melissa Francis Embellishments. Some faux white stitching along the edge of the tag with my White Molotow Pen finished it off. :o)

There, we have it, another fun make using the fabulous stamps and stencils from STAMPlorations. :o) I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty and join in our challenge.

Jazz It Up!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Today I have a lil' card for you using the Gesso Resist Technique and the Jazz It Up image from Visible Image.

I started by scraping some Gesso onto Strathmore Mixed Media Paper. I then applied Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple Distress Inks. As you can see the Gesso acts as a resist and adds a layer of texture to your background without the "bulk" of texture pastes. I then stamped the Jazz Player onto my piece with Jet Black Archival Ink using my MISTI, and once dry I went over it with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen. I added the sentiment in Red StazOn ink. Some washi tape added some more texture, which I went around with my Black Soot Distress Crayon for some shading, and also along the edges of the entire piece. Finally,  some black Nuvo drops finished it up. I mounted my piece onto black cardstock (4.24'x5.5') and Voila! You have a fun Masculine Card...which I always struggle with. ;o)

Thank you for stoppin' by and I hope I inspired you to get crafty today!
