STAMPlorations~ Hello Sunshine!

Good Morning Coffee lovers, today marks another day in the

and STAMPlorations is one of the amazing Sponsors!

Be sure to join in using any tea, coffee or cocoa images with a SPRING theme. :o)

Today, I made a card using Rise and Grind Stamp set.
I started with a 4 x 5.25' piece of watercolor paper and added Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet onto my craft sheet, spritzed with water and smooshed my paper onto it - drying it in between layers so my colors didn't get muddy.

I thenstamped the image onto Design Paper from my stash and cut them out and paper pieced it together onto my card. I used Distress Crayons to highlight the image. I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Purple Archival Ink and finished with some Washi in green and purple.

I sure hope you've been inspired to join in this fun hop!

Jazz It Up!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Today I have a lil' card for you using the Gesso Resist Technique and the Jazz It Up image from Visible Image.

I started by scraping some Gesso onto Strathmore Mixed Media Paper. I then applied Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple Distress Inks. As you can see the Gesso acts as a resist and adds a layer of texture to your background without the "bulk" of texture pastes. I then stamped the Jazz Player onto my piece with Jet Black Archival Ink using my MISTI, and once dry I went over it with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen. I added the sentiment in Red StazOn ink. Some washi tape added some more texture, which I went around with my Black Soot Distress Crayon for some shading, and also along the edges of the entire piece. Finally,  some black Nuvo drops finished it up. I mounted my piece onto black cardstock (4.24'x5.5') and Voila! You have a fun Masculine Card...which I always struggle with. ;o)

Thank you for stoppin' by and I hope I inspired you to get crafty today!

Coffee...Good til the last drop!

Happy Sunday y'all, today, I'm here to share with you a lil' Journal Page I did that was inspired by
Vicky Papaioannou's "Take Life One Cup At A Time" Journal Page here.   I love Vicky's style and her YT videos are a lot of fun to watch. Be sure to check her out!

so here's my page:

I started by layering pieces of CS that I cut into squares/rectangles of different sizes and adhering them to my journal using Golden Matte Medium. Once dry, I applied, Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Barn Door Distress Paints and blending with a semi wet baby wipe. I then added Ranger Texture Paste thru the TCW "Sketch Grid" Stencil. Once dry, I stamped Prima "Messy" Stamp in StazOn Midi "Claret" and a hexagon stamp (sorry I got it in a swap, so don't know the brand) in Sepia Archival Ink

I then cut out my teacups from the Silhouette Store 4 tea cup silhouettes by Samantha Walker and the Coffee Sentiment from Coffee Cup by Tanya Batrak. I used BasicGrey's "Curio" paper pad.   I then inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and embossed the "Coffee" Sentiment with clear embossing powder, to get the "liquid" feel of coffee. I then adhered them with Art Basics Soft Matte Gel. I created a shadow around the cups with Vintage Photo Distress Crayon and finished with highlighting from my White Molotow Pen

I stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Archival Ink using Tim Holtz Worn Text and added some white highlights with the Molotow pen. I finished with a stamped border from an old Stampin' Up set using StazOn Olive Green Ink and some white acrylic paint splatters.

Thank you for stoppin' by, I sure hope I've inspired you to grab a cuppa and craft! ;o)

STAMPlorations~ Sunday Stencil~ Explore

Good morning crafty peeps! It's that time again...

http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2016/08/stencil-sunday-august-7.html

A new challenge starts today at STAMPlorations!! Woohoo!

The theme is always anything mixed media goes except a card! Just remember you must use at least one stencil (any brand) in your project. You have until the end of the month to play!

So this month I played with STAMPlorations Artsy Border Maker and Bold Setiments- Explore stamps along with ARTplorations Some Birds stencil. :o)
I started with #8 Manilla tag which I covered with TH Tissue Paper and then blended Vintage Photo and Stained Walnut Distress Crayons with my finger. I stamped the edges of the tag with stamps from the "Artsy Border Maker" set with Black Soot Distress Ink

I then used the "Some Birds" Stencil on the small birds with Ranger Texture Paste on the top and bottom of the tag. I painted the small birds with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mist in Long John Silver as I thought the white didn't blend well with the rest of the tag. I mixed Sunset Gold Pearl Ex with Texture Paste for the large bird and I LOVED the color!! Wish the camera could pick up the shimmer! I finished with stamps from the "Bold Sentiments- Explore" stamped in Walnut Stain Distress Ink and colored in with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. I matted both the tag and sentiments with Kraft Cardstock and finished with some seam binding dyed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mist in Long John Silver.

I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty today and play along with us this month!

For my second tag, I used Joggles Wonky House #9 with some stenciled paper pieces over Distress Crayons with the ghosting technique.

For a step-by-step tutorial, please check the Joggles Blog  for my tutorial here.
