STAMPlorations~ "Beautiful" Art Journal Page

Good afternoon, today I'm here with an art journal page tutorial for my recycled Kids book/Art Journal.

A friend got me some new Dylusions Paints, so I got them out and had a fun play with a couple of them. I love how easily Dylusions paints blend together using a small TH Blending Tool. You can create a lot of layers by drying in between each layer. ~Lurve them!!~

I hope you enjoy my page. ;o)

STAMPlorations~ Happy Tag

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm sharing a lil
tag I made for STAMPlorations Sunday Stencil #106. The designers have created some fabulous mixed media projects to inspire you. You can find them  hereso be sure to check them out and leave them some luv! :o)

Today I made a  tag using  a chipboard tag as my base, with 2 awesome stencils by the lovely SannaSenecio 1 and Leaves 1 which are from her new release Sanna Lippert Designs.   I started by applying Liquitex Basics Acrylic paints in turquoise and magenta. Once dry I then applied Orange Dylusion paint thru the Senecio 1 stencil and added Purple Dylusions Paint thru the Leaves 1 stencil in a random design.

I die cut some different sized circles from book pages and adhered to my tag with Matt Medium. Some Black Soot Distress Crayon around the circles made them "POP" from the bright background. :o)

I then die cut the Happy Word Die from black cardstock 4 times and adhered them together so it would add some dimension to my tag. Some clear Prima menagerie dots and ribbon from my stash finished off my tag.

Don't forget there is still time to join in the Monthly Challenge here.

I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty today! Oh and don't forget if you use code "STAMPGIRLAMY" you can get 20% off your purchase! :o)

TAGplorations~ Hug in a Mug!

Hello crafty friends, I'm back with a lil' tag for the

This month it's all about WINTER and the optional twist is: Texture Paste

I used the new Toasty  Mug stamp set along with CUTplorations Tags #1 and Hug in a Mug dies.

I cut out the tag using the Tags #1 large die from a piece of cardboard and peeled some of the paper back to show the corrugated paper underneath, then added some music paper and tore pieces from that so the exposed cardboard could peak through. I added some Dylusions Vanilla Custard paint with my finger to mute and soften the background...LOVE that color, it's great in lieu of white gesso for a softer, vintagey..is that a word?;o)..feel. I then distressed the edges with Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress Crayons.

I watercolored the image from the Toasty Mug stamp  set with Distress Inks and fussy cut it out. I adhered it to my tag with foam tape for added dimension.I added some glossy accents to the coffee in the mug and doesn't it look JAVAlicious? ;o)

I then added the Hug in a Mug phrase die cut from Kraft paper and a little button and twine finished off my lil' tag.

I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty today! Oh and don't forget if you use code "STAMPGIRLAMY" you can get 20% off your purchase! :o)

I then used Ranger Texture Paste thru the JUST SQUARES stencil and once dry, I splattered some paints onto the tag. I then used my Fine FC Artist Pitt Pen and doodled around the edge of the tag. I stamped the sentiment form the ART IS set onto tissue paper and applied it to my tag with Gel Medium.  A little wood veneer gear and bling from my stash finished off my tag. :o)

TAGplorations~January Challenge

Woohoo! It's time for another TAGplorations Challenge!

This month's theme is WINTER and the optional twist is: TEXTURE PASTE

Here's my tag

I started with the largest Manila Tags Die cut from MDF board and applied some pieces of cardboard. I then applied a layer of Gesso. Once dry, I applied Prima Platinum Crackle Texture Paste in random areas and let it air dry so I could get the crackle effect.
I then used Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays in browns and blues to add some color to my background. Then I added the Snowman I  created using different sized circles cut from scrap papers in my stash. I used Vintage Photo Distress Crayon on the edges for some highlights and dimension. I created his arms from the TH Bird Branch Die and tied the Sentiment (TH Christmas Word Bands) with twine.

I finished with the Uppercase Alpha in the bottom as that's my wish...for Peace.

And some Paper Smooches Stars Die cuts finished off my tag.

I sure hope you join us for this fun challenge and I can't wait to see your WINTER INSPIRED tags!
