Two Paper Divas~ Fun with Alcohol Inks

Good Morning everyone, I'm back to share with you another double feature for
http://www.twopaperdivas.com/

using Feathers and A Cup of Kindness. I have two cards using Alcohol Ink blended backgrounds with these two stamp sets...I must say, these are two of my fav's!!! :o)

For the card bases, I dabbed different alcohol inks onto glossy cardstock. This is a fun technique and therapeutic..as you can stomp your blending tool all around. hehehehe

For the first card, I went with pastel pink and blue. Not a normal color palette for me but was quite pleased with the softness of it. :o)
I stamped the cup and sentiment from the  A Cup of Kindness set with Jet Black Archival Ink. I then inked up white ribbon with Spun SugarDistress Stain as I didn't have a pale pink ribbon...Distress Stains are great for matching up Ribbon and embellishments to you projects. ;o)

A vintage button finished it off.

Here's the inside:

For the second card, I mixed pink and purple alcohol inks and in my second ink up...I got those dark spots...but I liked them, so kept this piece. Sometimes, it's the errors that turn into beauties! ;o)
I stamped the feathers and sentiment from the Feathers set with the black archival ink. and just added some "CrushedGrape" Nuvo Crystal Drops for some dimension.

Here's the inside:

I used a tricolor pigment ink pad, and LURVE how the feather came out:

There you have it, some CAS cards that are both quick and fun to do! :o)

Thank you for stoppin' by and be sure to join me next Friday to see another fun make using this September's NEW RELEASES!! ;o)

Faery Ink~ Never Let Fear...

Good Morning Crafty Friends, I'm here to share a Journal Page I created for

using the newly released Calavera Rosa. I think this stamp is GORGEOUS and I couldn't wait to use it. :o)

I started with twinkling H20's onto Watercolor paper. I then used Black gesso over Joggles Star Flowers Stencil. I left the center clear it just framed the image. :o)

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Markers  keeping with the Pink and Black color palette  and used Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen on the Black around the eyes and nose. I then fussy cut her out:
A self-created sentiment finished off the journal page. :o)

I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty today!

Trendy Feathers 2 "Just Hello with Versamagic Spanish Olive Ink.

I embossed the feathers from Trendy Feathers 2 in White EP and colored with Weathered Wood and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks then fussy cut out. I adhered 2 of them peeking out of the flowers and tied 2 together with Twine at the bottom to balance it all out.

Two Paper Divas~ Celebrate Life!

Good Morning everyone, I'm back to share with you a double feature for

http://www.twopaperdivas.com/

using the newly release Celebrate Life . I have a lil' card and tag using the same set but in different ways. :o)

For the card, I created a Heart Sunset with the Heart and Paint Mark from the set.

I started with some watercolor yellow onto Watercolor Paper. I then stamped the Heart and then masked it off with a Post-it Note. I then started stamping the paint marks from left to write, masking off the previous mark. I used all Memento Dew Ink pads. I finished with a sentiment from the same set.

Of course, I had to add a lil' somethin' somethin' to the inside:

And here's the tag I made using the same, Celebrate Life set.
I started with a #8 Tag and added a Gesso Base layer. I then covered the base with Art Alchemy- Violet Gold Acrylic Paint such a pretty metallic paint. :o) I then stamped the paint marks with Deep Purple Archival Ink. I then stamped sentiments using Blue Violet and Jet Black Archival Inks. Inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Paint and finished with  black satin ribbon and a twine bow.

Thank you for stoppin' by and be sure to join me next Friday to see another fun make using this month's NEW RELEASES!! ;o)

Stamplorations~ Tutorial~ Altered Frame

Good morning y'all and happy Monday! I'm here to share with you a fun altered project and tutorial I made for STAMPlorations

I love going to garage sales and picking up all sorts of odd and ends...usually to alter them in some way. A month ago I came across a frame with a quote inside...and knew I could turn it into something I could use to hang my lil' makes in my craft room.

Pretty, but not for me. So here's my process on how I altered the frame :

I started by taking out the center panel with the quote.

I gave it a good coat of gesso

I used Dylusions Calypso Teal Paint and gave it 2 coats.

After it dried, I used the Mini Honeycomb Delight Stencil with Lemon Zest Dylusions Paint and a mini blending tool.

While the frame was drying, I taped off the Mini Bold Florals Stencil so that only one them was visible. I then used Bubblegum Pink Dylusions Paint with the stencil onto tissue paper. I also stamped a few circles from the Artsy Border Maker with Black Archival ink onto the tissue paper. I then cut them all out.

I used flowers from the Big Bloom Factory stamp set and embossed them with white embossing powder onto watercolor paper.I used distress inks to color them up and then fussy cut them out.

Now here's the fun part. :o) I turned the frame over onto it's backside and grabbed some multicolored twine and a staple gun. I stapled the twine in different directions until I was happy with the design. I used heavy duty duct tape on the ends to ensure they stayed put.

I then added my tissue paper flowers, tissue paper circles and Big Bloom Factory flowers onto the frame with Matte Medium and Glossy Accents. I finished by adding some Liquid Pearls to the pink tissue paper flower centers.

Voila! I now have a fun and vibrant frame that I can hang my photos, tags, cards and ATC's in my craft room using mini clothes pins. :o)

I sure hope I've inspired you to go bargain hunting and altering items to suit your needs. :o)

Two Paper Divas~ Hope Anchors the Soul!

Good Morning everyone, I'm back to share with you a lil' card I made for

http://www.twopaperdivas.com/

using the newly release Anchors the Soul . I LURVE this set. Such a great set for Masculine cards, birthdays, Thinking of You...just so much fun to play with!

I started with CS and DP from Recollections for my base. Layered the Tim Holtz Frameworks "Trellis" die
in blue CS and burlap. Then added some red netted ribbon to keep with my color palette. I stamped the image onto Watercolor CS and used Spectrum Noir Markers and "Hickory Smoke" Distress Crayon to color it and then fussy cut it out.  I added the "Delicate Chain" die from Memory Box as I thought it fit in with the motif and added some extra texture. Stamped the sentiment in Navy and Red Memento Ink and finshed with a cute Anchor charm.

Love all that yummy texture. :o)

And of course I had to tie in the inside with the front of my card design with an added Weigh Anchor Die from Echo Park which I colored with Distress Pain in "Weathered Wood" & "Walnut Stain".  :

I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty today! ;o)

Thank you for stoppin' by and be sure to join me next Friday to see another fun make using this month's NEW RELEASES!! Woot! Woot!

STAMPlorations~ Sunday Stencil #58 and AUG Mixed Media Challenge!

Good morning crafty peeps! It's that time again...

http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2016/08/stencil-sunday-august-7.html

A new challenge starts today at STAMPlorations!! Woohoo!

The theme is always anything mixed media goes except a card! Just remember you must use at least one stencil (any brand) in your project. You have until the end of the month to play!

I used Stained Glass ARTplorations stencil for my background with Distress Inks (Crushed Olive, Lucky Clover, Mermaid Lagoon and Broken China).

I then added some Twinkling H20's (Heavenly White and Egyptian Gold for the flower and Forest Green and Golden Jade for the leaves/stems)  onto watercolor paper and when it was completely dry I stamped the Lillies from Smile - Dee's Artsy Impressions onto it with Jet Black Arvhival Ink. I then fussy cut them out.

I then stamped the flowers and sentiments with Jet Black Archival Ink onto my background using my MISTI. I paperpieced the Lillies onto the stamped background and finished with some Yellow Stickles on the stamens. Some white splatters with watered down white acrylic paint and some white seam binding ribbon finished it off. :o)

I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty today and play along with us this month!
