Faery Ink~ Frankie's Bride

Good Morning Crafty Friends, I'm here to share a card I made for
http://faeryink.com/

I got to work with "Frankie's Bride" for my Inspiration post today because we are ALL ABOUT GEARING UP FOR HALLOWEEN!! That's right...Halloween! Woohoo!

Here we go with my card...
Ok, so I can't do SPOOKY...but I can do CUTE...hehehehe and I just love the forlorn look on her face, like she's waiting for that special someone...Frankie of course! lol!
I used my corner dies from Cuttlebug and Regal Labels from Sizzix. I distressed and inked the edges for more of a tattered look, like she's been waiting a long time...poor gal...but for some girls it does take a while to meet the one..am I right ladies? ;o) DP is from Creative Memories and sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Markers and kept it neutral but for a pop of color on her skin...thought it made it more ethereal. Oh and who needs red roses...Not Frankie's Bride..she prefers Black/Purple roses...to each to their own I say. ;o)
I added a Spider diecut which I enameled in Black EP and heated and stamped with Brilliance Ink in Brilliance Platinum Planet. Got the idea from RACH0013 on Youtube. Check out her vids...she's amazing!!!

Here's the inside where I double stamped the sentiment to get a "Ghost/Shadow" Effect:

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope I've helped you get in the mood for Halloween!

Happy Craftin'!

MWLW New Release~ Steampunk Mini Canvas

Good Morning Crafty Friends!

I'm here to share a card I made for
http://mywhimsicallittleworld.blogspot.ca/

Today, we have a picture perfect new release with Young Lady Penelope

How awesome is this steampunk image?

I made a lil' mini canvas and tried a different technique of coloring different shades of browns on tissue paper.
I started by priming my canvas with Gesso and then coloring with Black acrylic paint. Used Tim Holtz Harlequin Stencill for some texture; by applying a thin coat of Gel Medium, I was able to keep it white against my sprays. :o) I then sprayed some Lindy's Stamp Gang and Heidi Swapp sprays. Using a bit of gesso again, I achieved the background color I wanted.

I printed the image onto tissue paper and colored with different shades of Browns in SN Markers and applied it with Gel Medium to my canvas.
I think if I did this again, I'd use a heavier paper for contrast. But still liked the aged look it lent to my canvas.

I used steampunk images from the internet and added some Metal Corners. I finished with Gear die cuts from Memory box which I embossed with Copper, gold and Champagne EP's.
The key is from my stash, which I sprayed with Tim Holtz Copper Spray.

Hope you like my take on a mini steampunk canvas.

Don't forget, to  join us on Friday,  Sept 25th for  Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.  We are super excited to show you all the fabulous projects we have made for this awesome hop filled with some AMAZING prizes!

Also, Paola has  something new at MWLW...Whimsy Notes! They are these  Cute little digi stamps that are great for your pocket pages and can also be used as ATC cards.

Happy Craftin'!

So Suzy Stamps~ Masquerade

Happy Thursday my Crafty friends!
Today I have a CAS card I made using the Venetian Mask and Love Takes Off The Mask stamps from

http://www.sosuzystamps.com/
But that's not all...Have you seen all the wonderful Fireworks! Sprays that Suzy carries? Let me tell you that if you haven't tried these out...you just aren't "Crafting" my friends!!! These sprays are complimentary to Memento and Izing ink colors...that's right...your favorite Memento inks, have a spray with a shimmery effect! And these work on both light and dark papers!

So without further ado, here's my card...
I started with a 5x5 card base and then cut out a pink layer of CS 1/8' smaller. Then another white  piece of CS, again cut 1/8' smaller than then the pink CS.
 I embossed the
Venetian Mask and Love Takes Off The Mask
stamps with detail black embossing powder onto the white piece of card stock.

But I still wanted a pop of color, so I used Fireworks! in Angel Pink and just love the hint of sparkle and shimmer it added with the soft pink color.

Voila! a quick CAS card with a lot of glitz and glamour!

Of course I had to finish the inside of my card too

I hope I've inspired you to try out Fireworks! Sprays in the great assortment of colors that Suzy carries. It's the perfect finishing touch on a project.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget about our  "Happiness is..." challenge. If you don't have a blog - you can still enter over at our Facebook group

Julia Spiri- Girly Girl Tag

Happy Thursday Crafty Friends!
I'm so excited to be able to share with you my make for
http://juliaspirichallengeblog.blogspot.ca/

There will be a new challenge every second Thursday and it is an Anything Goes Challenge with a twist! Please check the rules here.

Time for our second challenge and the twist is:

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS

So make it girl, use a girl image, what ever screams "GIRLS" to you. ;o)

For this challenge, I used Girl with Pigtails. Now how cute is this image? Just makes me smile!

I made a mixed-media tag for this challenge.
I started by priming my tag with Gesso and then using texture paste and Hampton Art Stencil. Painted a thin coat of Acrylic pain in red that I watered down for a glazed look. Added some more color with Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays and sentiment from Tim Holtz.

Here's a closer look at the image I colored with SN Markers and added some Liquid Pearls in Red.

Here's the embellies I used with a light coat of Gesso for a more "aged" look.

It's always an Anything Goes Challenge!

http://www.doctor-digi.com/

I had the pleasure of working with
 Isn't she Rockin'???

I made a Mini Canvas that I primed with black Gesso and hot glued Crayons to. Then by heating the crayons, I melted them to get the cool background.

Pretty cool texture that technique gives you

I colored my Image with SN Markers and fussy cut her out
However, I should have made her larger, but originally I was going to make a card with her but then my mojo took me here...hahahaha

I finished with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Color My World set, in white Pigment ink

Hope I've inspired you to get Crafty and join us this fun challenge!

Ghost of Lenore Canvas

Good Morning Crafty Friends, I'm here to share a card I made for the New Release over at

http://faeryink.com/

I got to work with the ethereal Ghost of Lenore! Just perfect with Halloween next month!

So I've been getting into Mixed Media lately and this canvas was actually my first go at it after Watching Angela, from Angela Holt Designs on YT here. ;o)

I started with an 8x10 Canvas and primed it with gesso. I stenciled with texture paste and added torn Bits of paper with Gel Medium. I then had fun spraying with different Spray Mists (Lindy's Stamp Gang, Distress Stains, Heidi Swapp Color Shine and Fireworks).
I colored the ethereal image of "Ghost of Lenore" with SN Markers- Iused Greys and Violets as I thought it lent the image a Ghostly feel. ;o)

I really enjoyed making this Canvas as there are so many things you can use! Buttons, Die cuts, Paper pieces, paints, Pearls, old Jewelry, Flowers, metal pieces...it's endless really!

Once I glued all the items down, using Glossy accents (for the metal pieces) and Hot glue gun, I painted everything with white Gesso. I then used my sprays to bring in the color- again, I kept with muted colors, like purple, blues and pinks. I then did another layer of Gesso on the tips of everything. I used some Inka Gold in Lava Red and rubbed it in certain places for some shine. And finished with some bling and pearls.

Here's a closer look at everything

Be sure to check out Faery Inks New Releases through out the month as there are some AWESOME images coming up and the DT gals did such amazing things with them! :o)

Wait! Don't forget to join the Faery Ink FB Group for Giveaways, Swaps and Monthly Challenges!

So Suzy Stamps~ Altered Box

Good Morning my crafty friends,I'm here, with some inspiration for

http://www.sosuzystamps.com/

With our "Happiness Is..." Challenge going on, I thought I'd do an altered box using the Happiness Is... stamp & the Open Road corresponding sentiment. I matched them with the Vintage Balloon stamp. Love this "Happiness Is..." series...there's something for everyone and for every occasion!

I started with a small box I had and used Gesso all over, this is so that the paints and other mediums I used would have  something to grab on to -Gesso gives your projects "Some tooth".
I then used various stencils with homemade texture paste (1 part glue, 2 parts white acrylic Paint and 2 parts Plaster of Paris or talc- Mix it up really well and voila!). This gave my box dimension and of course different textures. Allow to completely dry before next steps.

Then I added different spray mists (Lindy's Stamp Gang, Distress Stain in Antique Bronze, Hedi Swapp Color Shine). Dry completely with your heat tool in between so they don't get "Muddy". I then stamped the Vintage Balloon onto tissue paper in Versamark Sepia (Important to use Archival Inks as then it won't smear/run). I adhered the images to the box with Gel Medium (Modge Podge can also be used).
I embossed the  Vintage Balloon onto chipboard and fussy cut it out and added some bling for extra dimension.

I then created a tag using the
Happiness Is... and decorated it with Enamel Chips in Turquoise, Frantage and sprays. I finished with Brass Buttons and Gears from Memory Box- Mini Gears which were Gesso'd, sprayed and embossed. I also added some Bling to tie them in with the
Vintage Balloon. I finished with the
Open Road sentiment in Black Archival Ink, so it would stand out.

I've been having a lot of fun getting into Mixed Media! If I don't like something, I can cover it up with Gesso, Paper or decoupage and start again! lol!

I hope I've inspired you to give it a go!
