I used the Plaid Maker Stencil with Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Hickory Smoke.  I covered a  chipboard heart from my stash with old Dictionary paper and gel medium and adhered it to my tag over some red/silver twine with foam tape. I then cut the Peace Love Joy Phrase Die in white and red CS and cut off the LOVE portion and layered them together so it added a little highlight and depth to the word sentiment.  A couple more chipboard hearts and some white pain splatters finished off my tag along with a white ribbon and enamel dot.

Thanks for joining me today and have fun hopping. Come see me again on the 13th where I'll have another fun LOVE tag for you for DAY 6 of the Hop. :o)

STAMPlorations~ February Challenge!

Happy Sunday crafty friends! It's that time again...
http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2016/08/stencil-sunday-august-7.html
A new challenge starts today at STAMPlorations! :o)

The theme is always anything mixed media goes except a card! Just remember you must use at least one stencil (any brand) in your project. You have until the end of the month to play!

Here is a lil' tag I made using ARTplorations  Weaving stencil and STAMPlorations Always Time for Tea stamp set.

I started with a tag cut from watercolor paper and then added Ranger TexturePaste thru the Weaving Stencil in the top left and bottom right corners.  After that paste dried, I  then wet the paper with paperto prepare for my watercoloring. I used my Kuretake GansaiTambi Watercolors and applied  No. 44 & No. 139 in layers; drying in between layers.

I stamped and embossed the teacups from the ALWAYS TIME FOR TEA stamp set onto Wisteria Paper from BasicGrey. I fussy cut them out and layered them on top of eachother creating a slit in the bottom cup with my Exacto knife. I adhered them with Golden Matte Medium. I stamped a sentiment from the same set with Jet Black Archival Ink as I thought it needed some black. I  then cut a slit in the top cup and added the flower sprigs from Melissa Francis Embellishments. Some faux white stitching along the edge of the tag with my White Molotow Pen finished it off. :o)

There, we have it, another fun make using the fabulous stamps and stencils from STAMPlorations. :o) I sure hope I've inspired you to get crafty and join in our challenge.

Jazz It Up!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Today I have a lil' card for you using the Gesso Resist Technique and the Jazz It Up image from Visible Image.

I started by scraping some Gesso onto Strathmore Mixed Media Paper. I then applied Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple Distress Inks. As you can see the Gesso acts as a resist and adds a layer of texture to your background without the "bulk" of texture pastes. I then stamped the Jazz Player onto my piece with Jet Black Archival Ink using my MISTI, and once dry I went over it with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen. I added the sentiment in Red StazOn ink. Some washi tape added some more texture, which I went around with my Black Soot Distress Crayon for some shading, and also along the edges of the entire piece. Finally,  some black Nuvo drops finished it up. I mounted my piece onto black cardstock (4.24'x5.5') and Voila! You have a fun Masculine Card...which I always struggle with. ;o)

Thank you for stoppin' by and I hope I inspired you to get crafty today!
